Copy & Print Icon Missing on display IR 4245i

Hope you all doing great,

I have an issue with Out of box Canon IR 4245i,there is no copy or Print Icon on display,and it's also not there from Quick menu or add buttons,add buttons are actually grayed out.
Have tried with system manger log in 7654321,Also Went through the e-manual but can't find anything regarding this issue.

Really Appreciate your help !

mmi clear that sucker, upgrade to latest firmware. Should be doing this for EVERY new machine that comes across your desk. Copier > Option > Body> UI-COPY would be where the copy tab is enabled or not

But there is no >Body tab. Copier> Option> FNC-SW, DSPLY-SW, NETWORK, and few more buttons but no >Body

Is that the Issue here?

Whoops my bad. copier > Option > dsply-sw > ui copy 0 to hide 1 to display

Sorry i wasn't able to find >ui copy> too

there is an option for 2 or 4 buttons but no specific for copy icon display



Lost,i have put on firmware update,lets see if that helps.

go in service mode
LEVEL 2

Setting Procedure
1) Start [ SERVICE MODE ] in Level 2.
2) Press [ COPIER ] > [ Option ] > [ DSPLY-SW ]

COPIER>OPTION>DSPLY-SW>

UI-COPY = Display/hide of copy screen/To set whether to display or hide the copy
function.
Display/adj/set range 0 to 1
0: Hide, 1: Display
1) Enter the setting value, and then press OK
key.
2) Turn OFF/ON the main power switch.


UI-PRINT = Display/hide of print job screen/To set whether to display or hide the print job
screen
Display/adj/set range 0 to 1
0: Hide, 1: Display

1) Enter the setting value, and then press OK
key.
2) Turn OFF/ON the main power switch.

This is what i have got in Level 2 Service mode,no UI-Copy,

could this be the firmware issue?

sorry I really didn't finish my coffee this morning before replying. If you have no ui-copy in service mode level 2 > copier > option > displ-sw then yes I would try flashing the software via CDS (aka the updater menu)

Looks like a Firmware issue> u only have one of one > of three menus that should be shown

Does it even see the Reader?
Does an R-Con version show is Service Mode?

Copier>Option>Fnc/Switch>W/ Scnr

If firmware re-install does not work>>>>

check settings=LEVEL 1

COPIER>OPTION>FNC-SW>W/SCNR setting value: set to "1"

Also check the READER CONNECTOR CABLE

update was interrupted because of electricity and now machine won't go to system setting or Service mode as well,

Is there anything we can do with this??

so u had a location power failure or printer power issue after u set COPIER>OPTION>FNC-SW>W/SCNR to "1" and were exiting out of menu. ???

is the control panel / touch locked up ????
Sometimes dirt can buildup between the touch panel and the control panel cover. This buildup over time causes downward pressure to the touch panel and it stops responding. Going around the entire perimeter of the screen, take a business card or other firm type of media and slide it between the touch panel and the control panel cover.

Is Error Light is Flashing

Touch Screen Locks Up
The copier will reboot, and the touch screen will lock up.
Cannot get into download mode. Boot System Diagnostics, and Controller System Diagnostics does not work.


Inspect connections on Main Controller 1


was this a power issue at customer business location or a printer power issue

Have you rest programer? Take out the counter pcb and serial pcb than program it.
