    Canon adf

Can I swap an adf from a canon image runner advance c5051 and a c5045?

The first is a single pass duplex adf and the other is a double pass adf. I have switched them along with the scanning assy. Do I need to change any settings in the tech mode?

Thank you for your replies. I have switched the two feeders and the adf initializes when powered on but I can not get the machine to take the run the orginals through the feeder. It keeps copying off of the glass. I checked the connectors and it still only scans off the glass. Any thoughts?

you might need to tell the machine that it has a feder unit, or tell it that it doesn't, then tell it it does again.

            go to:

            service mode> Copier>Option>DNC-SW>W/SCNR set 1 to 0
            turn off machine
            unplug reader unit connector
            turn on machine
go to above option and set value to 1
            turn off machine
            plug reader unit back in
            turn on machine

**what this does is tell the machine that it doesn't have a reader unit (so don't expect the CCD to do anything at boot) and then tells the machine that a reader unit is installed.

this might resolve the issue your having.
