    IR-2230 jam code 0B00

I am getting this jam code with the information from previous posts I have narrowed down the cause to the front door sensor the toner door. While making copies I watch that sensor in service mode IO and start to see it flip flop from 1 to 0 intermittantly and then a jam occurs. I have tried to switch that sensor with the waste toner sensor and get the same thing. the actuator on the door is ok. I checked the grounding plate spring on the reg roller also. I am trying to find a circuit diagram so that I can trace the wiring of that sensor. I have the service manual but there is no circuit diagram in it. The older model machines had circuit diagrams in the service handbooks. I have not been able to find it for this series of machines. Any help would be greatly apprieciated.
    Thanks.

    This might help.

    • When making copies the error E100-0001, E110-0002 would occur intermittently. This occurred between 1 in 100 to 1 in 1000 prints.
    • Jam code 0B00 occurs when feeding paper continuously.
    • Black copies / prints.
    • A 'wavy' image is occurring from both copies and prints.

    Cause
    • Defective Laser Scanner Assembly, Main Power Supply or DC Controller.
    • The ground spring to the registration roller not making proper contact with the roller.
    • The spring was bent backwards far enough that it was making contact with the Transfer Roller causing black copies.

    Action
Before replacing any of the above parts check the condition of the grounding spring on the steel registration roller. If found to be bent reform or replace the Leaf Spring (FC5-1564-000

The most common causes are door and lower right door related. There is a remote signal that runs through the HVT that shuts off power to the HVT if the door is opened, if the signal is lost during copying the jam code 0B00 is the symptom.

In this particular case the HVT FM2-0261-000 was the cause of the jam.

          Hi,
Thanks for all the help. Thanks tekat for the circuit diagram. it is a regular 2230 the circuit diagram you sent is correct and i apprieciate it very much. but it does not include the general circuit diagram of the whole machine. maybe i can study it and find where my problem is.

Thank you for the help . I will post what i find out.

Just an update. after more testing I found that the front door sensor voltage on one pin stays at a steady 5v while copying another pin is 0v ground. and the other pin is 3.4 volts when the machine is idle with the sensor blocked. upon making copies the voltage starts to drop to 3 v then 2v when it hits 1.9v it sets the 0B00 jam. I disconected the plug to the sensor and the machine runs fine I just made 100 copies with no jams when before you couldnt make 10 before it would jam. I am tempted to just leave the machine like that with the sensor disconnected.

Thanks Tekat for that part # I will order it.

Just for the heck of it
i replaced the door sensor and the machine is now working. What threw me off was when i switched the sensor with the waste toner sensor they are both defective in the front door position but in the waste toner spot they are both working. go figure never take any thing for granted.

Yesterday I just solved one of my Copier thhat come with this jam code (0B00) and with error E100-0001 & E110-002.
THe solution is , the grounding plate on registration roller was bent and dirty. after strighten and clean it, the copier runs as normal.

thanks for your post. I give your 5 *****.

Today I came across this defect in iR 2870, and was apparently resolved with the replacement of the front door access to the toner sensor. After the exchange were run over 200 pages without a record of the jam.

Thanks...I have the same jamcode..0B00,[only in two sided copies, after 8 to 12 copies two sided]... when i replaced HVT...the machine works smoothly..
