[Error Code] Canon C5185 Error Code E000004-0401 and can not reset the error please help

i got a Canon C5185 and it give a error code E000004-0401 before i was able to reset the code by go in to the service menu and go to copy then functions and then clear err general it will work for quite some time again. but now when i go to that menu it's changed i get the following screen:

for the changed screen in fount the touch screen lost it's calibration

any one know how i can re calibrated the touch screen for the unit

You can calibrate the screen from COPIER>FUNCTION>PANEL>TOUCHCHK then touch the 4 x marks

If this doesn't work you need to replace the touch screen, these are cheap to buy.

Or you can heat whole panel for 10 min on 70C

thanks will try that hope it's works as the screen is very much off about 2inch on the lower end. so also not way to puch ok for the calibration

Thanks the heating of the touch screen solved the issue!

and the error looks to be solved to as the tray of the fuser unit was not completely strait and because of this the fuser unit was not running smooth.

so hope all is solved now

Heating the touch screen fixed it!? Wow i'll try that next time! Did you use a hair dryer or the like???

I'm usually put inside kitchen oven whole panel unit. After then unit can work some time from one month to few years, dependent on luck.




I watched the youtube video of a man repairing a touch screen on the tablet, and I tried to do the same with the control panel. The thing works.

If you have to wait 20 days for a new part but business must be finished next day, I think we all tried it because they can not lose anything.
There are more similar tricks but about this next time


P.S.
10min and 70C is the max time otherwise the plastic start melts

i did it also in a bread backing oven on 70C
and solved it totally even did not have to calibrated the screen after
so the tricy works very well!
