[CQ] IRC A 5045 FUSING ISSUES

    Hi

we are experiencing some problems with fusing issues but mainly/only on magenta.
It is intermittent and quite severe.
The documents tend to be high colour coverage.
We have gone down the settings route and parts but are stilll experiencing the problem.
So far we have replaced the fuser, dev, drum, transfer assy and external transfer roller.
The machine is running with genuine canon toner.
After replacing the dev unit (done twice) it appears to have solved the issue but after a few hundred copies it comes back.
The firmware is up to date.
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Try setting the paper to thick/card mode see if the problem stops. Perhaps there is a coating on the paper that effects the melting/sticking. Try different paper. Cheap, recycle, damp paper? Monitor the fuser temperature as you run the copier, see if it drops below set limit.

We have set the settings to different modes and it still happens also the machine has run like this with the same settings fine for the last 18 months.
      The fuser temp holds steady.

      Thanks

Sounds like its time to spark chase. Here's why, when you changed developer it was ok for a few days then problem returns and machine has run with same settings for 18 months.

        Checks to try
Check setting of OFST-P-M under adjust>Pascal. Set to 0 run full grad adjustment and test if ok stop if still bad then
        2. Completely remove and Reseat maisy 1 and 2. Test if ng try to swap riser PCB with working machine and test if still ng then
        3. Break out your wireing diagram (EEK), think image formation process
Maisy 2, dc-con, laser, tb/drum drive PCB,Hv primary charge PCB, 2nd transfer hv PCB, machine connection to magenta dev/drum(have seen this 1ST TRNSFR. H.V. CONT ACT ASS'Y be damaged)

        Good luck, hope this helps
