[CQ] Canon Imagclass MF8350Cdn blank pages

    Hi all,

I have a Canon MF8350Cdn that needed the main drive unit replaced as the toners were stuck in the machine. After replacing the main drive unit i power up and test firstly a report print. That tested ok. The i tried a color test in service mode and the page came out blank. Basically if you print anything in in mono it is ok. if you print in color, even a windows test page which has black on it, the page comes out blank. if you

I verified all the cabling was connected as replacing the main drive is a stripdown job. Check all connections, laser shutter mechanism, ITB, HVPS and changed black and cyan toner as they were low. No change in fault. Even and engine test comes out blank. Tried doing a stop test and each time the ITB is blank. My next move is to try the main PCB or the DC controller just thought i would ask if anyone has any ideas.

    Cheers.

Can you confirm that if you have changed the main drive that everything is connected and the colour drums are turning? Put a mark on one of the colour drums (outside the image area) and cycle the machine. If the mark hasn't moved the drums haven't turned.

If the drums are turning then I would take a look at the laser as the next step. Totally blank images is a strange error to have and is likely to be something you have missed when changing the main drive (assuming it all worked before you changed it). Plus if it was a functional error (PCB problem) I would expect to see error messages along with the fault.

    Hope this helps!

Tried all of that. After 15 hours total on it the lvps crapped itself so the machine is being replaced.

      Thanx for the reply
