Canon 5185i going through ADF boards

I am at my wits end with this copier. We got a E000202-0101 error a couple months ago after a storm. I replaced the ADF board and everything worked great until today. Now I am getting the same error again and the board appears to be bad again. What could be causing this to keep happening? It did storm again last night, so is it surges causing the board to go bad and what can I do to stop this. Thanks you in advance for you insights.

E202 error code with the two new sub-codes 0101 and 0102 pertain to the new Contact Image Sensor (CIS Unit) used in the DADF-T1 for the two-sided simultaneous reading DF. The following describes the two sub-codes:

E202-0101: Backside reading glass (CIS) Home Position error. The Home Position cannot be detected in the detection (outward) of the Home Position of the backside reading glass (CIS).

E202-0102: Backside reading glass (CIS) Home Position error. The Home Position cannot be detected in the detection (homeward) of the Home Position of the backside reading glass (CIS).

The CIS Unit resides in the DADF-T1

Machine comes to ready, code E202-0101 is generated when documents are inserted in the feeder.

    Solution :
Replace both M6 and the DADF controller at the same time.

    see pdf

When removing the metal cover over the ADF Controller be careful not to contact Fuse 401 or the Diode with the cover.
Damage to these two components will also give you the E202 0101 error code.

Before you replacing the ADF Controller PCB (PCB1), print a P_PRINT

Thank you for your help teckat. What do I if I can't do a P Print? The copier won't completely come on due to the error. It gives me the shut down screen.

u may be able to temporary isolate DADF T1 from Printer (in service mode or by removing interface cables from DADF to Printer/ only remove cables when printer is unplugged from outlet/ & only re insert cable when printer is unplugged )
or just remove the DADF power supply cable---------------------------

Thanks again for all of the help. I do have a p-print inside the front door on the copier. What do I look for on it to use when I get everything running again?
