[Misc] Help with irac2230 fax auto fax/tel

Hello

I've read so many topics yesterday about this, and thought i will fix it today, but i didn't so i'm opening new topic.

I have a problem with setting up fax RX auto Fax/tel. Customer has same line for fax and telephone, and refuses to buy another line.
I have enabled expanded rx options in service mode (NCU->SpecialB->SW27 =1), also set correct country in TYPE.

I enabled auto fax/tel..
ring start time =5 sec.
ring time = 15 sec.

set it to ring 5 times

When i call from phone it rings on handset, and after 5 rings goes into fax reception.

but when i send fax it also rings for 5 times and then goes to fax.

so customer has no idea if he is getting fax or ordinary call.
if they answer and end call, fax doesn't print out.
If they dont answer, fax does print out, but they can't know if they're getting fax or a call.

Is there any way to set it; if machine detect fax, immediatly prints it, and if it detects that it's a call send it to handset?

I believe Distinctive Ring is only available on Canon Consumer Products and NOT available on Business Canon MFDs which require a Dedicated Line..... which makes sense as who wants to answer a COPIER Phone.......????

I think canonbundy is right,

If the customer answer and it is a fax, the customer should leave the phone off the hook and go to the photocopy machine and press fax button.......press hook key .... and press start button.... I think fax is run manually.

I tried with leaving the phone off the hook, but i didn't press no button on the copier. Do you know where can I find that button on irac 2230?

there is no distinctive ring option with nost new canon office products.
this is only on the home version mpf's

i have tested external distictive ring boxes..no real success.

There is something called a fax switch, this plugs into the incoming line, it will switch the incoming call to either a phone if it detects a phone call or fax if it detects an incoming fax.
