    =================?
    Iam more confused then u.

    Which is installed>
UFR II Printer Kit-E3 or PCL/UFR II PrinterKit-E2_??.

I repeat_#853=This error occurs when the Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-E1/or is not installed and a driver different than UFR is being used to print. Installing and using the Canon UFR driver corrects the error.

Note that the PCL or PS driver will cause the error when the Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-E1/E2 is not installed.

If printer is working with original parts, why are u playing around with this memory._?

    Bottom line_
-Boot Rom ver. must match current Printer Firmware ver.

-Memory has nothing to do with Boot Rom ver.

If Copier works as as stand alone & u have an issue setting it up for Network Print that is a separate issue.

Explain exactly what the issue is & what u are trying to accomplish.

Re: Canon iR2270 - Network print error #853

      Hi everybody,

Here the picture of the copier with "N" bootrom plugin in. See that bootrom version is 06.36N. The "C" version bootrom is written as 06.36C on it (see page 1, post #8) but displayed as 10.42C in system (see page 2, post #14).

      IMG_0523 - Copie.JPG

So, I think teckat is right when he said that the problem must come from firmware version compared to bootrom version.

How can I upgrade bootrom version (I didn't know it was possible but it seems possible regarding my "C" bootrom) / downgrade firmware version ?

Sorry if I'm mistaking but I'm really newby in copier

      Thanks for your help.

        Error #853

This error mostly occurs> when the Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit- is not installed and a driver different than UFR is being used to print.
Installing and using the Canon UFR driver usually corrects the error. Note that the PCL or PS driver will cause the error when the Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-E1 is not installed.

there is no separate firmware for "N" (Multi-PDL Printer Kit) Boot Rom in this model.

          Hi teckat,

          thank you for your time

I bought it on ebay, because my local Canon tech tells me that my IR 2270 was to old and spare parts wasn't provided anymore for 1 year...

I can't buy E1 KIT because the Canon tech tells me that my copier was to old, and he had not parts for it anymore.

I bought a 06.36N bootrom on ebay and fill it like instructions in PDF file sended by teckat, but nothing else with soft like SST. => the copier refuses to start (error E000744-3030 see previous posts) :

              photo - Copie.JPG

/!\ All next was done with the only bootrom which the copier accepts to start with (written as 06.36C on it, but appearing as 10.42C in system interface) :

I've setup ScanGear but it can't find the scanner on my network (automatic and manual mode with ip were tested).

I've tried several drivers such as PCL, UFR, PS, and also ?"Class Driver"? provided by windows in auto install mode.

No one of these works, see log (in french sorry ) :

              journal.JPG

Still the same error... the printer begins to turn and stops 3 seconds later without using any sheet...

If you think i'm mistanking about drivers, can you tell me which one is right (I run Win 8.1 64 bits Pro)

u lack correct amount of memory

                E744
                -3030
can be caused by an insufficient amount of RAM installed in the machine. Enter service mode to check the amount of RAM recognized by the machine.

                First Check>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
                COPIER>DISPLAY>ACC-STS>RAM

The machine should display 512MB of RAM installed.

                see attachment
                below
                Memory Change from [2] 256MB Memory DIMM to [1] 512MB Memory DIMM.pdf (77.3 KB)

Bottom Line---------------------just reload latest Firmware / latest SST will recognize old BOOT ver. & will update it first> them rest of firmware will load in

what is written on BOOT ROM is meaningless / that only reflects what ver it was originally manufactured at.

your main firmware ver is OK at v37.01

that ver had the Boot Rom at 10.42

when u put in either the "C" 10.42_C or "N" 6.36_N Boot Rom the printer only reflects what ver it is /or was flashed up to previously.

                  Hi,

I just saw that teckat said that scanner function is available without Multi PDL kit since firmware 32.02 : http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ca...tml#post452878

(Scan tab is not visible on my copier)

I've installed ScanGear but I can't make it works...

Furthermore, where can I find the licence key to activate sending function ? :

                      Network ScanGear (pull scanning)
                      :

Yes, normally the Canon Printer Kit needs to be installed for network scanning using Network ScanGear.

Year 2005 > If the imageRUNNER 2270 / 2870 / 3570 / 4570 is updated to version 32.02 or higher system software or the imageRUNNER 8070 / 9070 / 105+ is updated to version 10.40 or higher system software or the imageRUNNER 5570 / 6570 is updated to version 20.65 or higher system software, then the Canon Printer Kit is not required for network scanning using Network ScanGear.

                      Universal Send (push scanning):

No, the Canon Printer Kit is not needed for installing and using the Universal Send Kit.
Finally, ScanGear Tool doesn't detect the copier on the network.

                        Once Again October 26, 2005

                        Question :
Is the Printer Kit Needed for Network Scanning via Network ScanGear or Universal Send on the imageRUNNER XX70 Series?
                        Answer :

                        Network ScanGear (pull scanning):
“Pull” Scanning is standard on 2270/2870/3570/4570

“PULL SCANNING” – ALSO CALLED “TWAIN COMPLIANT” SCANNING

Place document in scanner and turn the scan feature on

Open an application on your computer

Go to the “insert picture” or similar command in your software program and click on it. You can go to “custom insert” and adjust the dpi, size, etc. The document will show up inserted into your document. You are “pulling” the document from the scanner into your computer program. Different programs may function a little differently.

Walk back to the copier, retrieve your original and turn off the scanner.

Note - Some machines scan in full color and some are black & white only – check the specifications of your specific iR model.

Yes, normally the Canon Printer Kit needs to be installed for network scanning using Network ScanGear.
                        See the exceptions below.

                        * UPDATE
                        - If the imageRUNNER 2270 / 2870 / 3570 / 4570 is updated to version 32.02 or higher system software or the imageRUNNER 8070 / 9070 / 105+ is updated to version 10.40 or higher system software or the imageRUNNER 5570 / 6570 is updated to version 20.65 or higher system software, then the Canon Printer Kit is not required for network scanning using Network ScanGear.
                        Universal Send (push scanning):

SENDING or “PUSH” SCANNING – CANON UNIVERSAL SEND

Walk up to the copier and select the “SEND” feature on the control panel.

Select the destination for your scanned document. It can be an e-mail address, a Windows SMB file, or an FTP Server. You can select the dpi and the format. With the exception of the iR3300i, 2220i, 3320i, iR2010F and Laser Class 730i Series (now discontinued) ,machines are equipped for setup of email accounts that require authentication, so there is no special setup required on your server or mail server. Some machines scan in full color and some are black & white only – check the specifications of your specific machine. iR3000 Series machines and above can also send through web-based email accounts, like Google or Yahoo! that require SSL encryption.

Push the start key. You are sending or “pushing” the document to the email address, Windows file, or FTP Server. Your document goes directly to the destination in the format you select. Retrieve your original and go back to your desk.
If you are doing a good amount of scanning, Universal Send is much faster than “Pull” Scanning. It sends the document to your computer and converts it to a PDF, TIFF, MTIFF, or JPEG (Color only) in one step without any additional software needed. Basically, if you can browse to the folder, you can scan to the folder. For convenience, file locations can also be stored in the copier address book.

No, the Canon Printer Kit is not needed for installing and using the Universal Send Kit.
