    [Dead] IR3235-firmware

    Hi guys,

    Upgraded firmware on ir3235 today, seemed to go ok, machine asked to be turned off/on, started to write to HDD, then asked to be turned on/off again. Bit unusual, but did as requested. When turned back on, machine started to boot, prob about 5 mm on the progress bar, hang there for about 3 mins and then rebooted, and that was the cycle, just kept rebooting.

    I am guessing that the upgrade didnt fully take or there was a corruption somewhere. I took out the 2 x Dimms, cleaned the pins, d/c and r/c the HDD, but still the same. Is there a seperate boot ROM on this machine? Ive seen a post about shorting the JP1 connector? Any ideas???

    Using USB or SST

    ALL: for downloading in normal mode
    Use it to collectively download all system software files that are found.
    Use it as when upgrading the system software

      Re: IR3235-firmware

      as stated in the Post, i already upgraded the firmware using the SST, after the firmware had fully loaded and the machine asked to be switched on/off, it then downloaded a couple of more things before writing to HDD then it started to boot/reboot by itself, hang for about 2/3 mins, progress bar about 10 percent and then reboots. Went back to the machine today with a new HDD and loaded firmware onto the new HDD using the SST and it booted ok, I can only put it down to a coincedence that either the HDD became faulty or the firmware didnt load correctly on the old HDD.

        Good,

        Note;
        If firmware had previously been updated or re-loaded on HDD with a lower version of SST then u have now _that could have caused rebooting issue_ seen this a few times.
