[Dead] Canon IPF8300 E196-404E (EEPROM read error)

We are working on an IPF8300 that is getting error code E196-404E (EEPROM read error) on startup and will not respond when we try to bring it up in service mode. The manual says nothing about this other than to suggest replacing the main board, which we did, but we are still getting the same error code. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Michael

*******First try to flash the firmware to resolve the issue.
After flashing the firmware, initialize the error in service mode.
:-| When flashing the firmware, it will be necessary to use the L-Printer Service tool,

    See link for tool

If you replace the main controller you have to boot into service to get the replacement mode to show up.

Choose CPU and that should download the backup image from the mc relay...unless the mc relay is fooled up. In which case, see above!
