[Misc] ir400 dev/ dev drive problems?

    Hi guys,

went to a ir400 2 weeks ago, dev assy had seized, only 87,000 on the meter. I ordered a new dev assy, but never went back as I was away. Another tech went to do the RTF an put in the new dev assy, but said it kept asking to supply toner and wouldnt actually allow the supply to happen. It would go thru the motions but nothing.

Anyone had any problems with devs/dev drive, toner supply etc? Going back myself tomorrow and a heads up would be appreciated.

    tks Munstertech

Is there any developer drive? If not, clearly the seized developing unit broke additional drive gears in the back. Seems obvious. Doesn't it? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: ir400 dev/ dev drive problems?

went back to this machine today, tried a toner stir, but no toner entering the dev assy, took out the toner cartridge and in the machine where the dev sits, there is a lever and a shutter, when the lever is pushed back the shutter opens and allows toner to fall into the dev. This was not happening, no toner falling. Put my hand into where the toner bottle sits and at the back, a build up of toner, pushed my finger down the aperture and totally compacted. Also seems to be something broken, a paddle or stirrer as its just floating around in the big pile of toner. Ordered a new hopper assy, had a little chuckle with the customer as it was so obvious!
