Leaving colour on the bottom of the paper

    Hi,

My Canon IRC2380i photocopier has started leaving a small amount of multi coloured markings on the bottom of some pieces of paper that it prints. What is causing this? - it may be important to note that this only happens occasionally.

A similar thing happens when printing in black and white. Small areas of black smudges are seen on the paper.

    Help is greatly appreciated

You need to replace the ITB cleaning assembly FM2-5523

I agree, the itb patchs are not being cleaned off. I would start by remiving the ITB & take off & clean the cleaning unit, you might find paper has got trapped in there.

            Hi,

Im an end user, however, thanks to people on this forum, I have fixed many things on my photocopier myself. I'm quite handy.

Does someone have a guide for this copier how to "You need to replace the ITB cleaning assembly FM2-5523"....

How much does it cost on average to change the ITB?

            Regards

I see .... Well, as far as i know this is a forum for professional copier techs. Don't get me wrong but how would you feel if people become members of a forum of your proffession so they can do stuff on their own rather than paying you for it.

Naturally, I would generally tend to agree. I'm also a qualified professional master builder, but everyone likes to think they can do my job when property prices are romping away!

However, besides the point, I live in a mediterranean country which is as backward as hell! I have my photocopier on a 5 year maintenance agreement and I purchased it out right. I'm British and operating in the country I am based in is a nightmare due to the racist prats that occupy this place. The sun I'm sure has cooked their brains.

Every time I call the technicians, they come, have a look, piss off and I end up having to do everything myself! When I complain to the Company I get no where because my skin is white!

Surely if you call out an engineer, they visit but dont fix your machine you don't pay them!?

I have the machine with a 5 year maintenance agreement. I pay about 1 cent per black and white print and about 10 cents per colour copy A4. They've got the bulk of my money and are no longer interested.

In an efficient country, i'd take them to court. But even for something so simple, over here it would cost me hundreds of euros and literally take 5 years for the court to "judge" a simple case. Small claims over here is a joke!!

As part of the maintenance agreement, all repairs are supposed to be ha ha free!!!

Cancel the contract with them immediately & find a local freelance engineer.

                      Where are you based?
