    CANON IR7105 maintenance

    Dear experts ,
    I have a problem.
We have 7 no of ir7105/ir7086. We are printing 250000 pages / day with this printing setup. 3 days before, when we are on holidays ,my whole office is burned . As there are lots of fiber and plastic in the office and there is not way out for the smoke the whole smoke remain in my work place ,specially in the place where the copiers are. I can even see the ash and the black carbon below the scanner glass on the fuser , on the sepration foam .
I know I should clean every sensor and rubber in the paper path . But can anyone tell me how to clean it ? Use alcohol or nail paint remover or water ?
Which other sensor should I clean . What about the gears ? Do I need to apply any lubricant on the gears ?? What about the laser ? Should I take a printout and then go for cleaning the laser unit. And what about v2 finisher ?

Pl help .. I don't have courage about starting the printers without cleaning .
I know , I should relying on my technician but I don't want to miss anything.

Please don't mind my English .
    Thank you.

First at all, i would suggest you to blow out the boxes with compressed air. The residues from burning are not abrasive, so i see no problem for the gears and bushings. remove all covers, the copyboard glass,Drum Unit and developing unit, take the mashine outside and give it a good amount of air. Dont forget the pcb's because carbon is conductive and you dont want a short cirquit. If you come in the near of a fan, hold the wheel in place, if the wheel turns too fast due to the air stream, it will build up inductive current and toast your dc controller. A lot of work, but it can be done.

      Good luck

Sounds awful, can you send us pictures, how close were they to the fire? were they all powered on at the time?

Worst thing u could have done, was to power up printers>
before a complete teardown of these units for inspection & cleaning.
Did u call or have a service company that has trained personal to do this work.

                  ??????
