Black Band Sequence
If continuous print is carried out while there is no toner being sent on to the ITB cleaning blade, the blade may bend backwards. This sequence feeds non-transferred
toner to the cleaning blade in order to prevent this problem.
1. Timing
- When belt rotation is performed after 1,000 sheets printing.
2. Sequence details
According to the above-mentioned timing, the solid black belt of 10mm in length is formed with the width on ITB. Once the black band clears the secondary transfer
roller, secondary transfer outer roller cleaning (see Note) is performed.
Further, once the black band is formed, the cumulative counter resets to the default (0).
NOTE:
Negative bias (TR2 signal) is applied to the secondary transfer outer roller to prevent rear soiling of the print paper, and this creates a difference in electro-potential
between the ITB and the roller. As a result, residual negative toner sticking to the secondary transfer outer roller returns to the ITB and is collected in the cleaning
unit by the ITB cleaning blade.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Big problems ITB Cleaning Assy Ir 2380/3380
My team has had this issue many times. We find that you change the cleaner assy, then next morning you get a call for blanks. Upon inspection we find the blade hasn't flipped, it kinda adhered to the belt. Grab the drive coupling to turn it and the belt snaps loose. We don't replace them until they streak, which is very rare. I dust the belt area where the blade makes contact with waste toner before installing the cleaner. Its a little grittier(?) than sterate or whatever drum powder you wanna use, and helps prevent belt from stalling. Once the blade wears a bit, not an issue.Comment

Hi All,
Had this problem many times, if you don't have drum powder, sprinkle a little toner onto the itb from the toner container and not the waste toner, anything could be in there and could damage you itb.
then once you replace the itb back into the machine, make a few sky copies or pg10 prints and boom problem goes away.
In my experience it tends to happen in summer when the temps get high and the blade expands and creates more friction on the belt.
Good luck.....SAZ911..........Comment
