[CQ] Dirty prints on Pro 8105

    Morning all,

Having problems with toner speck on one of my 8105s.

Specks are only on the front side, and it gets better on long runs.

Machine has had recent service including::

    drum
    cleaning blade
    both coronas
    dev unit
    transfer belt and blade

The service made it much better as it used to be the whole edge.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

check for a broken auger in the process unit or broken waste drive belt.
the belt tensioner and process unit have been modified

I am not used to service this kind of machine, but this problem can happen when you have a problem in the drum cleaning section.I would suggest to remove front cover (the one that cover drum unit) and with a door actuator in, make a copy and see if all gears rotate normally.
There is a small gear that run the spiral coil inside drum cleaning section and if the gear is broken the spiral coil does not transport waste toner,so it drops on the paper on transfer belt.

        Morning,

        Thanks for the replies.

Just like to add that I've tried swapping complete process unit and transfer belt/cleaner from another device.

        Problem is still there?

Will have another look next week.

Remove the laser unit, open it and check the polygon mirror for dirty ends; clean them thoruhgl, also check the dust glass above the drum. What you need to know on these models (the 80xx and the 60xx series) is, that they are "white writers" what means that contamination on laser mirrors leads to darker images and not to fade images, as we are used to know

          give it a try

            Hi,

My IRAdv8105 with OEM toner creating quality problem. the sample attached.. the wave like grey patch...

Twice I clean the Developer. After that runs around 5k copies... and again the same problem...

There is no patter format found... But if found in top, always at top portion.

Attached the sample A3 sheet. Kindly help me.

We had a problem like that. Pull out the fuser drawer and look on the bottom of the machine and see if there is any toner there (this would be under the duplex with fuser unit in machine). Wipe it all out with a dust rag. I did not think paper went there but it helped with a machine at a print shop. I think we replaced the developer unit also, it had a few issues. Guy bought machine with 1 million copies and sells them. Too cheap to buy a new machine.
