Quality issues printing on thick paper

    I have a distant customer with a iRAC 5051.

Customer sent me a scan of his problem.

The sample was printed using 250 gsm paper.

Machine has done approx 300.000 copies, so I guess to soon for developers.

What could be the cause of this? (developers, secondary roller)

The issue is visible on thick paper. On 80gsm is not visible.

Yeah I have seen the pubs - but there is nothing to it.

On plain paper the image is fine. The problem is on thick paper.

          Is it only in Cyan?

Get customer to maybe generate some CMYK density sheets in photoshop or something and print them on that paper, see what happens.

The fusers on these machines leave weird impressions sometimes.

No it happens in all colors. That sample was based on cyan.

This case is more about expectations from Canon than anything else.

Sales guy guaranteed to the customer that devs would run for half a mill with no issues.

Machine has done 300 K. So we are missing 200 K

Of course we will play the "500 K is for 5% coverage" card and see what happens

Definitely is pure developer in developer unit.If machine have average printing 10% coverage or higher no way to reach 500K.I have the same problem on ipc 6000

              500K my ass!

that sounds like a good way to get a pis**d off customer to me....

issue looks to be the transfer to me, although did you check they are telling the machine that the paper is in the heavy 2 bracket?

                  Hi there

Although Iam not servicing canon but if there are grids on drums clean it before replacing developers.

                  Thanks

It is a distant customer - so I cannot be sure about paper weight but they have been long enough in business so I trust them.
