    CANON IR 600 MARGINS

Canon IR 600 margins need to be re-set.
When making copies from either the glass or electronically from my computer the image is not centered.
From the lead edge, (top left corner) of the glass, image prints out about 1/4" to the right of center.
Same thing when sent from computer.
If I move the original on the glass 1/4" to the left it is pretty well centered.
Problem is, I print a lot of booklets from email and I don't know how to shift the image.
I think the softwear needs to be re-set to center all images
Anyone here know how to get into that program?
    Thanks,
    Dana Lewis

    Re: CANON IR 600 MARGINS

Is it possible that it's something simpler? Like perhaps one or more of the paper tray guides is not snuggly contacting the paper, letting that paper shift to the front or back?

Certainly there are electronic adjustments like you suggest, but typically those adjustments do not vary once they are set up properly. Tray guides however often do get shifted/changed.

I am assuming that your MFP has a finisher. If it's not the tray guides, attach a photographed sample image indicating the direction that the paper fed out of the copier. With that we can advise you more specifically. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Run a skyshot from each tray look at the difference in margins.
Use the tray which lines up best, if you casn't figure out how to adjust them.
I don't remember and i have no time to find that manual

It happens in every tray and every draw.

        Here's a new observation,
First sheet out is skewed 1/4" to the left.
All sheets after that are centered.
Same thing in both draws and all 3 trays.
Both from glass or from computer.

Skew is usually caused by bad registration clutch, worn reg roller or uneven gap going into the reg roller.
If someone lifted the fixing feeder assembly, they usually hold the guide plates with their right hand, and deform the tab which sets the reg gap.

            Hey Vigour,
            I think you're onto something.
            Will look into these suggestions.
            I'll report back later.
            Thanx,
