I just typed a long message but this shitty site crashed before I could post it!
So basically it said keep the pach sensor clean, P-SENS above 500 & replace the drum BEFORE 90%
This the secret to reliability on this series

Piece of garbage..just like 6800. 3100..yeh change drum unit and clean patch sensor. But no profit on a machine that eats drums...OPC drum...cheap...4 images on drum per copy....drums don't last shit. At least 6800 had an ASI drum that you got some life out of. Canon's worst product ever is the 3100..even 2050 ran better

          hi,

COPIER > DISPLAY > DENS > P-SENS-P. this value is lower 500 clean patch sensor

<REF-Y/M/C> should be betwen 464 to 560 if any color (y,c,m) it is nearly 700 or more you should make copies (10 or 20) in monocolor mode with the cover raised to low this value.....

ATR sensor should be cleaned .....

Be sure to generate the P-PRINT( COPIER>FUNCTION>MISC-P>P-PRINT.) when you replace OR CLEAR the DCCON to introduce the values appropiate again

          All the best
