    Canon ir c3200 not printing

I have this ir c3200 with n bootrom. I can scan and make copies. When i send a print it shows processing & waiting to print but the print never comes.

    I have internal print board (fg3 2729) & boot rom is 70.01n.

I have tried ps/pcl with lpr / raw setting in printer driver. All tried but no print.

In printer settings in machine i can see ps/pcl both options on machine under additional functions-printer. The ps or pcl option in machine contains 2 options. When i use these options print is sent to printer - but it shows processing & waiting to print but the print never comes.

    Pls help me

    regards

    Ok...the basics:
Are you able to a)ping the machine on the customer's network and/or b)ping the machine by connecting a laptop to the machine in fixed I.P. mode?
Has the machine always had a Canon board or did it have a Fiery previously?
If it did have a Fiery then the machine needs to be told that it now has a Canon board in it.
But the first thing that I'd be doing is to pinpoint whether it's a network issue or a machine problem.

      Oz,
      a) i can ping the machine all time.
      B) i can connect in fixip mode as well.
      C) machine came with canon board and no external fiery c1.

It worked well for 6 months and the problem came while m/c was working.

Start of problem : It startet this way- machine was powering off at its own while running. I checked fixing, hdd, printer board (fg3 2729), reconnected all. The power off problem gone, but no print at this time for now.

      Plz explain me the reasons.

      Thanks for your concern oz.

Does the "Processing" light come on when the job is sent?
I notice you said you connected to the machine in fixed i.p but did you print a test page?
Have you tried a DC clear?
Does the machine print out internal test prints from the engine?
Does it find another address if you turn DHCP on?
iRC3200 are notorious for going flakey and requiring a DC clear from time to time.

I agree with Oze. Most newer Canons are extremely flaky. Start with printing out the machine report and then do an RCON and DCON clear [MMI-CLEAR too if it has it, I can't remember off the top of my head] in function mode. Re-enter any values that changed in "adjust" mode from the report. Some values are in Level 2 Service Mode..... "*2" from 1st service mode screen. If that doesn't work then re-flash the firmware. Check the error log, there may be some E-602's....may need a HDD. Bet my paycheck that one of those will take care of it.

Seeing as how you can't do a P-PRINT you may need to re-register any custom paper size settings for the customer.
Also don't forget to back up the mailbox.
Peter....3200's do have MMI clear but that's as a last resort and due to the fact that he can't do a p-print or a network config sheet I'd advise against it.
DC clear should do the trick.

i can get the job list printed which details configuration details, network details etc.

                i can't print pcl/ps pages from m/c.

                dc clear?
i have done all clear from service level 1.
how do i do dc clear.
                what's in service level 2.

Could it be possible that the wrong print diver is being used?

If not, then try the MMI clear.

Next reformat the HDD and reload the N firmware.

The DC clear is the same as Dcon clear

                    Service Level 2:
some of the options you see when printing out the machine report are not available in normal service mode. You need to go into level 2 to access the other options. After *28* and you see "copier", "feeder", "sorter", etc, hit *2 and a similar screen will appear, only it will say "level 2" in the corner. If you can't do a level 1 P-PRINT [FUNCTION, MISC-P, P-PRINT, OK], then check inside the front door for a label or a "birth certificate" inside a panel in the front door. If you can't even print a PS/PCL config page, then that takes any networking or driver issues out of it.
You originally stated that it started when the machine had other oddball issues, probably all related. But you may wanna re-check all your connections when you tore it apart, nic & surf boards esp.
Gotta love Canons. They work great.....when they work.

today i will change bootrom & check.
Also check pprint from level 1 again.
                      and post the outcomes.
                      any suggestions for thorough checking?
