Epson error code No. 100016
MEANING = "HP [Home Position?] Detection Failed"
DESCRIPTION = "- CR scanner failed to return home. 1. Damage or disengagement of the drive gear wheel train 2. Disengagement, fraying, skipping of timing belt rn- Cannot read standard / home white models 3 . FFCrn scanner disconnected, broken, tilted or damaged 4. CISrn unit failure 5. Scanner housing failure 6. Main board failure "

try like this ower off, remove the back panel/document feeder, put it back on.
This error appears to be a probable component overheating problem.
Also try removing the cartridges and reinserting them
