I have a konica 7040 that I am trying to fix if the fix doesn't require calling in a technician. The display screen states "please wait front door is open". I have read the postings on this thread and attempted to clean any contacts. The only real interface appears to be a metal tab on the inside of the door that inserts into the counter when the door is closed.Any suggestions would be appreciateds. Please see attached photo.
7033 and 7040 are easy to get to the front door switch. Open the front door as you have and remove screws that hold the "paper clip tray" They go straight up. Lift that tray out and you are staring at the front door switch. My bet is that the plastic mounts are broken and it will require a new front inner cover. Those machines are pretty old and the plastic is pretty brittle by now. The later 7045 is a bit tougher to get to.
