Slotted Vertical Roller for 4 series

Hate to break it to you all, but they don't last forever.

I just replaced my first this morning.

    Machine: C454e
    Meter count 610K

Predominantly it prints A3 only, as its a home builder so its probably an exceptional circumstance.

It lasted 6 months and had worn down to be a smooth roller again.

The good news is that it lasted the entire time without issue so they are a solution that works.

It was an early E series which came initially with the solid hard black roller. It has never had the high pressure springs in the rhs door fitted either.

Youre talking about just the pick-up roller right?

Thanks for the info. Replacing them every 610k isn't a big deal!

Nup, I'm happy with that. Any other machine will probably get 1million out of them.

BTW, the soft gray rollers as fitted standard to the e series I am seeing smooth and jamming anwhere between 300-500K on any machine. They get an F for long term solution...

Yeah the gray ones, I wondered about. I just noticed them on a new machine the other day. They don't seem durable compared to the black ones or the newer black slotted ones.

Cool. We got one in a workshop on a mine site with tray 2 jamming issues. Thinking this might be the go. The mod for putting mylar and tape to pack the hinge wont last too long in a grubby environment.

EDIT: On the back of this, (assuming this is related to that intermittent, annoying jam issue from tray 2) the Bulletin states that you can add some mylar and plastic packing to the Lock Part (A161110601 ) for the main door.

I can't find any Parts Mod notices on this, but have they started manufacturing those lock parts with extra 'padding' as an optional part, or do we still rely on tape and mylar guide plastic?
