I have 3 C3850FS machines in field. Your typical maint seems to be rather simple as most the new machines. Only issue I had was a bad gear in drive assy making horrible noise. Not to difficult but not that fun to replace. The Op Panel is a little bit different in the menu setup but nothing that isn't easy to use. Non business hours weekly timer seems to be on by default so be sure to turn that off.

More reliable than a C35. We recently used 3350 & 3380 to replace some C35 and its amazing how little problems they cause by comparison especially considering the engine is almost identical

Think of it as an amalgamation of the mechanical reliability of Lexmark, and the mind bending firmware bugs of Konica Minolta.

Like the other Konica Minolta A4 Format machines... poor quality.

-Really bad print and copy quality
                  -transferbeld problems
                  -jam problems
                  -dont uprade the firmware

+cheap in toner and imaging units.

                    Re: C3350

don't agree with not updating the firmware, the original firmware is absolutely terrible. The latest firmware it a lot more stable.

we have 1 -200 in the field presently.

number 1 fault is touch panels failing - and they're costly. None of the replaced ones have failed again though.

Jams caused by careless endusers are indeed an issue.

environments with rough end users will see the plastic clip pop off the transfer belt retraction drive shaft - removing the jammed belt will be frightening for the uninitiated. It's actually pretty easy when you know what to do.

failing mfp boards, imaging units and other issues are no where near as common but do happen.

Print quality is crap compared to the full size machines, be under no illusion your getting the same print quality because your not.

I would say decent but not good. I've seen brand new fusers wrinkle paper, paper exit roller issues, control panel issues, slow machine. I would say reminds me of a grown up C35 with new issues.

Have many in the field. Haven't seen many hardware issues. Replaced a control panel once. Did have two fusers recently that are wrinkling paper. Last one only used 30% of fuser.

Firmware is a pain in the ass to me. There is 3 different firmware to flash. Controller, sub controller, and engine.

If you do any embedded papercut solution they can be a pain to work with.

No where near as bad as the C35

My Sales Manager did bring up a point that it takes 7 steps to print out a meter read on these and he hates the idea of customers going thru that many steps to get to it. Unless I'm missing something is there an easier way to print out the meter reads on the models with this smaller control panel?
