I've been trying to calibrate the DF-615 original tray width the last three visits, and finally figured out why it wasn't calibrating properly. The adjustment is in Service Mode > Machine > ADF Adjustment > ADF Original Size Adjustment.
At first I thought the tray width VR might be bad, but it compares reasonably similar to the other sister machine. It was particularly confusing that the screen prompted for tray width settings of LTR-R and STMT-R, but when I reviewed the manual it listed paper sizes A4 and B6. Then I got the idea that A4 is a lot more like LTR ... maybe that's what they meant to put in the prompt. After all, if they can screw up in writing the manual, maybe they can screw up in writing the service mode too. And after only the 8th try, the original size detection started working properly.
