KM C220 Faded to blank output

    [CQ] KM C220 Faded to blank output

    Customer has this unit and complaining of light going to blank prints. Printed a report from machine and it was blank. Made color copy to see if all were blank or only black. copy came out fine. printed report again, fine. Customer called a few hours later, blank output. swapped black and cyan drums to rule out drum. After a few(50) or so prints, got light and went blank. DV brush is good.

    Any ideas? Not that familiar with KM color.

      Hi. Try changing the K developing clutch.
      Service manual explains how to do this.
      Your black developing unit is not rotating due to that clutch that probably is slipping.

          Yes accusso is right. The dev clutch is slipping. Changed one today, one of many!!

                  Weird, I've never had to change a DV clutch

                      I have had the drum clutch fail. need to change the entire drive.

                                  the wire cracks at the joint of the clutch.

                                  KM put a bulletin up after we advised them of what the issue was.

                                  They also released the clutch as a seperate part due to the fact it didnt come as a single part only as a complete drive.
