bizhub 423 doc feed 621 not feeding certain times

this is wild.. customer stated the doc feeder will work only during scanning and not copying. I'm like what?
but as soon as I tried it.. customer was right so there must be a problem with timing or the gear that
drives the paper feed actuator because during a scan mode they scan twice as fast and the assembly drops down quicker
during a copy mode using the doc feeder it will not drop down thus not working
any thoughts on this? am I over thinking it? help

Check if the scanning does the same with the resolution set differently. Test 200X200 300X300 and 400X400.

Ive seen that, try soaking the spring clutch gear in alcohol for a couple minutes and reinstall.
If it wont engage immediately and drop the take up it works just like you see.

ok it was the spring clutch. I should have tried that first. Lol
but I usually overthink these things. The scanner feeds faster do that is why it worked

Not only can it be the spring clutch, but there are 2 white clutches on that same shaft. I usually replace all 3 as a set and it never comes back.
