The customer runs 11x17 booklets that have staples right-on the fold. When they run 8.5x11 booklets the staples are about 3 mm off the fold consistenly. I can adjust the 11" staples to be on the fold but then the 11x17 staples are off. Any ideas?

Re: SD-506 staples not on the fold
Is the paper cut accurately? Is the paper tray programmed to the correct size?
I had one just the other day that the enduser was complaining about varying registration on ledger. True, a few of the pages were actually 11" x 17", but the rest varied randomly from 10" x 15 3/4" to 12" x 18 1/4". Some of the corners were 90 degrees, but most varied from 88 to 93 degrees. When your customer cuts their own paper, accuracy can be an issue.
I had another customer recently that manually custom programmed tray #1 to 8 1/2" x 14". Why? I can't imagine. Maybe they just liked the way it folded the LTR-R booklets off center.
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: SD-506 staples not on the fold
We have a simular issue, tech said its a nightmare to adjust the stitcher unit (the tech we call when i can't figure it out)....
we always have an offset around 1-2mm. So we rotate 180 in the rip, so that its shifted to the back.... its dead on up to 16 pages, after that it drifts of the spine.
I know there is a fine adjustment but we were never able to get that to work or work well enough to make it better....Comment

I just had a similar issue and just taught the customer how to adjust it in service mode. I dont necessarily recommend doing this, but my customer was pretty advanced.Im a Loser Baby!!!Comment
