Same company, two different buildings two e series machines. When faxing long side first through the adf. The fax is sent out shrunk 50% and printed as if its being folded. 5.5x8.5 on half sheet. Opened a ticket with konica and havent heard anything back. Has anyone heard if this. I beleive its VoIP, but i adjusted the baud rates etc. If sent short side first, it sends out fine.

Re: C284e fax issues
They are, even recalibrated the adf. Copy and scan work fine, which lead me to believe it's a voip issue.Comment

Re: C284e fax issues
I've seen this exact issue on the Sharp Tiger and Jupiter series, and the Kyocera Alphard1 and Alphard2. On both these groups of machines, the original tray width detection or length detection sensor mis-identify the original size. On the Sharp it is the length sensor which mis-identifies a LTR original as LGR, so the image is reduced and rotated 90 degrees to become a LTR image. On the Kyocera the width detection comb/board mis-identifies a LTR original as a STMT-R original, so only the center 5 1/2" of the LTR page is scanned.
It could be as simple as a single enduser setting his or her stack of jobs on the end of the original tray (right on top of the original length sensor), then loading a LTR sized set. The original tray sees LGR and acts accordingly.
I've not seen it on the bizhub, but that's where I would start. =^..^=Last edited by blackcat4866; 05-06-2017, 01:55 AM.If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: C284e fax issues
I would second what Blackcat said about the width/length sensor. It probably wouldn't hurt to get one of those special a4 pages that come with a new machine and do all the adf max/min, size setup adjustments that are done with a new machine. I've noticed initializing the fax in service mode and reentering the country code, then header info has fixed some weird fax issues.
Had similar issue with faxes going to stmt size on a xerox and it was a setting in customer mode.

I'm pretty sure that that bizhub displays original size on the screen when you insert an original, so you should have no difficulty testing out that hypothesis. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Re: C284e fax issues
Yep, thats how i recalibrated it. And on the screen it diaplays the correct size. Of long side first 8 1/2x11. Still sends through as 8.5x5.5 half sheet.Comment

Re: C284e fax issues
Works fine off the glass. Only through adf. On two different machines, in different buildings. But the same customer.Comment

Re: C284e fax issues
Back everything up and go into service mode and do a data clear. That will put everything back to default. Make sure to back up address book first thoughComment

Re: C284e fax issues
Yes, its two machines. Its very possible theyre connected to a fax ATA, but i dont know for sure. Ive asked and no obe there knows either. One of the machine's wall port says "fax analog only". But that doesnt mean its true.Comment

Re: C284e fax issues
I've had the same issue, replaced all sensors and tried the suggestions above to no avail. In the end a DF control board fixed the problem.Comment
