false jam error at the fuser - c450

Getting a false error on the konica minolta bizhub c450. Have taken the fuser out and switched fusers but with the alternate fuser, still get the same error.
I was able from time to time by repeatedly opening and closing the door get the error to go away. But if a real paper jam occurs and the door has to be re-opened then the problem comes back. It is at the point now that just repeatedly opening and closing the door will not get the error to go away.

The panel shows a jam at the fuser where there is no jam. Tried 3 different fusers so far - which give an error jam at the fuser.

Any ideas?

Been a while since I worked on one of these, but I seem to remember that the exit sensor on the door assembly can fail due to the heat from the fuser.

second the door sensor. its near the reg roller on the front side. replace many of these
