We have a KM di7210 which is overtoning, along with backgrounding and toner spilling. We have changed the dev unit, developer, drum, basically a full pm. But almost immediately (3k-4k copies), overtoning starts. We have seen this on the same model elsewhere, and never really felt like it was resolved. Any suggestions?

Ahh yes. I have not seen a permanent solution for that problem. You might look at your LD bias adjustments and see if they are in range. If you cannot get them to adjust, then you may be looking at the image board or a laser unit. We had some success by replacing the D/U with one from a Di 650/551.Comment
