Nope they are pretty good and dev will go past 1.2M prints.
Using original toner? Changing the drum unit every 800K at least?
    Rough environment?

    Don't like tanks any choppers?
    Whatever

This happend to us even after 200k
we using only orignals parts and we change the drums in time.
I think it's because of the rough environmental conditions like high humidity and also dryness.

is it possible to disable auditing of environmental conditions in the mechine?

      tanks,

You don't want to disable the environmental detection. It helps for environmental problems.
        Don't think you can anyway.

Check and post temp/humidity in Level history 2 table.
Also depending on Temp/Humidity sensor(together with Gradation and Gamma correction) Grid Voltage and Developer Bias are adjusted.
Grid Voltage and Developer Bias can be checked in Table number, post them also.

Only thing I remember with that same "footprint" design was the C451 the black would dump dev because of poor contact, the mod was a small bracket that held unit in tight. Possible since C654's are getting older now maybe IU contacts are weakening?? Just a thought

I'll probably regret saying this but I haven't had a C654 dump but have had other a few "4" series dump because of going way past drum lifes. I actually have a C654 that I sold new around 5-7 yrs ago and has original color units with about 1.5 million on them. I have replaced the black a few times as well as fuser & trans belt but C654 color IU's seem to last forever.

Check the developing unit, the developer might be too much full in the unit. Reduce or rotate the gear upwards to drive the developer back into the unit.
Or if possible adjust the developing blade.
