Installation drum error C250i

hi i have a new c250i out of the box with all OEM. TC = 300.


It worked well for half a day, strangely "M drum installation error" came out. I inserted and removed several times in, restarted the MFP but without success.
The error disappeared by reversing the magenta drum with cyan. The MFP prints regularly, perfect quality and no error code. I hope it doesn't happen again.


I know there have been problems with toner detection but for now, no problems with drums on the iSeries. Has anyone had something like this?

i heard v75 has weird glitches. i woukld use 45

I've had this error with a different model machine, it ended up being the chip on the drum. If the issue follows the drum, replacing the current chip with another chip off an old drum may fix the issue. (It will keep the count off the current drum if the chip is off an old drum and not a new chip)
