Bizhub C227 printing problems

Hi,

Got this machine installed @customer.
It has problems with connectivity, sometimes it is offline.
And prints, mostly PDF's coming slow.
given in the end a time out problem.
Also the operation panel responds slow when trying te get for example in the service mode, keys reacts slow.

changed drivers, cables . . . No results.

sending an PDF with the exact same driver to another C227 in the network no problems.

Someone a clue here?

You failed to mention what version of F/W and what Function version the machine is at. Put the latest F/W on and set FV properly and see if that helps.

are you sure there is no conflict of IP?

is the port used a WSD? (BIG NO NO )

seeing how you haven't stated net config.. we'd be pissing in the dark to give further advice.

Latest F/W
version 4.2 (both)

You failed to mention what version of F/W and what Function version the machine is
at. Put the latest F/W on and set FV properly and see if that helps.

Why print driver and Ethernet cable when machine panel isn't responsive?
First you can do is to run full diagnostics, maybe then Initialize all data.

If the MFP goes offline, disable the SNMP port from the driver "Printer properties - Ports - Configure port ... - SNMP Status Active: remove the flag"


For speed, I imagine that the C227 first wants to receive the whole PDF file and then starts printing, right? If so, just change these two settings in the driver:
1. Printing preferences - Finishing - Paper layout: Productivity priority.
2. Printing preferences - Quality - Bottom right "Font settings ..." - Download printer fonts: Image. Also remove the "Use printer fonts" flag.

The fact that the operation panel is slow to respond you can rule out the network & drivers etc.

You are on the latest function version 4.2 so as a test try disconnecting the HDD does the screen become more responsive?

When the HDD start to fail they can "drag down" the rest of the machine making it perform slowly.

If this improves back up the address book & format the HDD, its preferable to do a physical format however this can take hours to complete.

Typically, the 227 and C227 do not have a responsive screen like a bizhbu C258. In fact, the C227 / 227 have a sensitivity very similar to the first touch screens of smartphones. We need to interpret well "it is not very reactive". The screen often requests the stylus for good accuracy.
