Bizhub 4050 error 9401

Hi friends, how are you?
it's been a while since we see each other.


Today I have a problem with a bizhub 4050. I get the 9401 error and in the manual it refers to "Exposure lamp lighting failure dected".

Indeed, when I turn on the printer, the scanner lamp makes a movement but does not turn on. The lamp LEDs remain off. Also, I feel a high heat on the left side of the scanner.

How do you suggest me to proceed? I remember that changing the scanner on these small printers is a nightmare

Did you try to reset internal error via service menu?

Yes, I also did a trouble reset. I also notice a strange eletronic noise in the printer right part.

provided nobody has been in there playing with the ribbon cables that is.

The printer is 3 years old but has been used very little, it only has 2,000 copies. I checked the cables, trying to unplug and reattach without success. The next step is to change the scanner unit and it won't be easy.

Problem solved by replacing the scanner unit

Problem solved by replacing the scanner unit

New or from parts machine. New one is so expensive that I will probably change whole machine.
