Hi, have you noticed any problems with the display (operator panel)? Often in this model they fail and create strange errors.

        Re: Automatic reset bizhub 4050

Sorry, i was knocked out for a few days - no corona ;-) Now I'm back with my old issue... at least every ten minutes this Printer resets inbetween.
How do i get to the error codes at this machine? Counter >00 >01 doesn't get me to a service menue...

I already formatted the HDD without effect

When it resets i definitels don't hear a relay klicking, just som knocking of a speaker like switching of a transistor radio...

When I try to check the firmware in the menu, it just shows bars !?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance

        Phil

Kind of a shot in the dark but it might be worth hooking it into an uninterruptable power supply, just to remove electrical noise as a factor. Then maybe try swapping the RAM? Just because it's incredibly easy and at least with PCs faulty RAM can cause any number of weird random problems... After that I think that poking around with a multimeter would be your next task, I would preface that by disconnecting optional accessories and seeing if the behavior changes. Fair warning I'm still closer to 'PC tech' than 'copier tech' so this process does come from that background and is potentially biased towards that mindset. Good luck.

I already tryied it on a completely other circuit, like in another building, because i had some issues here recording to electrical noise.
As i'm klicking frequently through the Menue for minutes then i had the effect, that i regognized it was freezing just 1 second before it rebooted - but anyway it doesn't get me any further...
Does anyone know, where this ugly lexmark laser trashcan with a bizhub display has its Memory? somewhere around the HDD? or in the Displayunit? Somehoy everything is different to "kormal" and genuine bizhub machines...

I don't have KM docs so hard for me to be very specific, but typically it would be on the control board correct? If you have silk screens and teardown guides for these devices it should be in there but I can only access user level stuff from their website.

Did you check this? Also turn off any power saving mode and test. Those aren't really Bizhubs, more Lexmarks. They can perform but are tricky to persuade.

                    Re: Automatic reset bizhub 4050

I checked all the Power saving options
                    - there are no "9 minutes" or alike
                    - the options are all switched off or i have changed it in anyway
                    - if it were an objective power saving counter, it might have not startet counting while I'm active "playing "with the display or switch off 10 seconds after a print-job

can you imagine some other "occult" counters? is there some possibility to do a very hard reset?

Does this machine has gut a "real" service menu`like real bizhubs or only the few points behind the admin password area?

Maybe I missed something but just to be sure we're covering all the bases... Does it print? Can you get it to run any sort of job before the reset? Just a passing thought but what if we're too focused on power aspects and there's just an actual component trying to POST (power on self test, idk if that term is used with copiers) that is failing and causing the reset. Like the fuser is having a really hard time reaching temp and the controller\engine board soft resets during the process? Definitely an interesting problem

Absolutely no failure, scan - Print - copy... everything perfekt. How do I get to an error - log in this machine?? does it have a real "Error - log"
Is it typical for these models that they do a reset instead of showing a failure / code and switches to a save -error -mode?

I tried to do some googling for you but the closest I found to any sort of reports\logging was print reports and idk how useful they would be.

I suspect the answer you're looking for could be found in the service manual if any of our friends on here happens to be able to get their hands on a copy, I found it for sale a few places 12$-14$ if you think it's worth the shot.

Here are the locations of the print reports if you wanna take a peek at them just for the hell of it.

                          [Print Reports]
To display: [Utility] - [User Settings] - [Scan/Fax Settings] - [Print Reports]
Print a TX report, RX report, and activity report.
                          Settings Description
[TX Report] Prints a report that contains transmission results.
                          Select [Print] to make prints.
[RX Report] Prints a report that contains receiving results.
                          Select [Print] to make prints.
[Activity Report] Prints a report that contains sending and receiving results.
                          Select [Print] to make prints.

Tanks for your engagement! I printed the logs as described by you, but there's nothing that has to do with the 9 min rebooting problem - and after all i changed all the time-depending values...

i will also google a little bit more tomorrow...
