    C227

Hi everyone. I'm considering buying a C227 to sell but have heard rumors that it's not a good model. I'm familiar with the 4 series and 8 series but not the c227.

    Any thoughts you can share?

Mechanically and functionally sound enough to pass. CMY are IU's and not drum and dev separate making the color IU's expensive. The black drum and dev is separately exchangeable and use developer replenishing.

The change to contact charge rollers instead of corona charge lead to the drums and IU's not making it past the yield like the previous models. Also found that it does not quite keep up on toner feed for very high coverage.

So good office color machine at its price point. Running cost on it is a bit high compared to the C308 .
And not for a color print shop.
    Whatever

Yeah I don't like them especially compared to 8 series they seems like low cost alternative which they actually are. Still not bad overall, I hate small control panel, noisy duplex but in reality they will work. Have one b287(same engine without color IUs) close to 900k still running strong from PM to PM.

Thank you. The whole idea of the drum and developer unit being together sold me on not purchasing it. The old 220s and 280s cost a fortune to replace the IUs

C220 series have separate drum units and dev units for all 4 of them unlike C227 series where all CMY are IUs.

                Please help,
customer has Develop Ineo+ 227 (crossreference is Konica Minolta bizhub C227) and has message: replace imaging units: cyan, magenta, yellow, but when I check the maintenance count screen all maintenance is in good condition:

                Imaging units:
                (C) 29%, ends 12/25/2022
                (M) 29%, ends 12/25/2022
                (Y) 29%, ends 12/25/2022

                Developing unit:
                (K) 70%, ends 01/16/2033

                Drum unit:
                (K) 18%, ends 03/21/2022

                Fixing unit:
                64%, ends 11/04/2030

                Transfer roller:
                42%, ends 03/16/2025

                Transfer belt unit:
                27%, ends 04/23/2023

What is wrong ? and why replace imaging units C, M, Y when they have 29% and ends 12/25/2022 ???
                Thank you.

                  Re: C227

Does the message actually say to replace them or to replace them soon? Big difference. If it says to replace soon, then the setting in the service mode for unit replacement is set to remind very early instead of normally. Can't remember the exact setting but something about pre-near life or something similar.

Bit strange but you can disable this warning with a firmware update & change a couple of SW settings in CE mode.

Yesterday I have an idea when I made service at the machine. The machine had bad translation of the replacing the imaging unit. When was warning machine displayed it said "replace imaging units", but when was the warning message in row there where "replace soon imaging unit". Bad translation!
