    Touch Screens Failing

Hi All, is anyone else having a problem with C450/C250 etc touch screens, I have had 4 fail in the week and no amount of cleaning or adjustment will help.
Just curious to see if anyone else is seeing this in the field.
    Cheers.

Nothing lately. I used to have to smack the control panel on some of the old di250/350 to get the touch screen to work.

What type of failure are you experiencing? Non-responsive touch screens? LED backlight not lighting up, contrast not working?

They get out of adjustment and no amount of adjusting will bring them back.
eg. of the four buttons to push when adjusting, the top twop will be out about 15mm while the bottom two 10mm.
The actual screen and backlight are fine.
        Cheers.

Kyocera's have had a problem with their touch screens for a while now. They had a bad batch where the conductive adhesive that attaches the flat cable to the glass, fails from heat and humidity. Possible the same manufacturer of yours. Not repairable, you must replace it.

I can confirm the problem with the touchscreens for C250/C252/C351/C352/C450. We have had around 20 defectiv control panels the last 2 months.

Strangely Ricoh have also had this problem although it has been for a while - same story humidity is affecting the glue which then throws the adjustment out & it is unrecoverable.

Note that Ricoh are providing the part free of charge now + a small amount for the labour to change over.

yah the touch screen on my 450 is bad, it works on occasion, I just readjust the adjustment and works for a day or two then becomes shotty again.
