premature fuser issues with mono bihub 308/458 series

    Hi there,

I noticed more and more fuser related issues with the mono "8" series like Bizhub 458/308/308e....

Actually I'm not totally shure why this happen to the mono series but not to the color derivates (C308/C458) but I suspect it
is because the typical type of "B&W customer" also like to run more duplex job, especially tax consultants.

Pretty often (after like 50k pages) you'll see some toner smearing/residue on the paper edges in running direction because of toner buildup on the press roller ends.
You can try and clean the press roller but the issue will re-appear in no time.

    Toner is original KM.

    Anyone noticed this, too?

depending only the mileage we tend to replace the CL8 clutch along with the fusing unit if it starts to smear (A161M20401) which does seem to help alot

This is sooo old and dreadful issue. Fusers and drums are downfall of that style machines.
We tried many things but even on new machines they failed typically at 60% life but some even earlier.
I greatly like the idea replacing fusing drive but not sure I will do it on every fuser just to last 600k.

Yeah toner is 100% genuine and like I said this is not actually not really a big deal with the color 8 series, just the B&W ones.
I know the 8 series engine was kind of a downgrade, mostly thanks to the charge rollers but all in all they are "OK" units.

Still I don't know why the B&W fusers are failing way more earlier compared to the color ones, my only theory is
that most of the customers tend to run sigificant more duplex volume.

I don't really see the correlation between the exit clutch and toner buldup on pressroller ends.
