C251i or most new i series will work. Fax set up

So I've got a customer that has a c251i that has a fax installed. Its a single line for her phone and fax and she also has a VM box. Is there anyway to make this work together. I mean if the fax picks up on a certain number of rings and its not a fax the VM isn't going to pickup. If i put the VM ring before the fax it isnt going to pick up the fax. She had a c284 prior and she said it worked with no issues. Is there a setting that differentiates between a call and a fax on the i series. Thanks

i think shes full of beans.
fax lines are supposed to be dedicated POTS lines with no answering machines.
if indeed voice calls and fax calls are to be routed separately using the same phone# ill bet its software and phone hardware that is doing the routing, not the copier.
in 25 years i havent known any konica that could determine a voice from an incoming fax call nor be able to route it to voicemail.
sounds like maybe some VOIP voodoo to me
id have to had seen it with my own eyes.
