BH-C-280, adresses in Adress Book not visible in control panel display

This machine is functioning since years perfectly, and it has the usual scan targets (SMB and FTP) working well. Now I had to add another FTP scan target and I used the same procedure as I was doing since decades.

I'm calling up the Web Interface, then: Administrator > LogIn> Store Address > New Registration > FTP > Name > Hans > CheckMark in “Main” (for main display) > Host Address > 192.168.2.xxx > File Path > XYZ > (User ID+Password none) > anonymous-ON > PASV Mode-OFF > Proxy OFF, Port No. 21 > confirm with OK at the bottom of the screen.
Everything is being entered exactly as all the other addresses in the Address Book List.

However, what I am seeing in the Address Book list is not the same as in the control panel display. All the old scan targets are there in the machine control panel display, but the new one I entered is not. I tried several settings and searched for my entry not only in the main screen, but also under "ABCDE etc. but my new entry is not there.

    Any ideas please?

Does the new destination show up under the "etc" heading?
Make sure that you have set the correct start letter and that the "Main" box is checked.
I have atatched a screenshot of what I mean.

Thanks, that's exactly what I did.

Ohh, I see you mentioned that in your original post.

How many destinations are currently set on the device? Also, did you leave it on "Use opening number" or did you specify an index manually?

I remember on one of the older firmwares that certain index ranges were reserved for certain destination types eg 1-100 were smb 101-200 were ftp etc, but I think that was on one of the A4s of that era.

If you create a dummy email or smb destination do they show on the main display as expected?

Got it. I tested it on a C220 I have here. Make sure that

Administrator - > System Settings - > Restrict User - >Restrict Access to Job Settings

Registering and Deleting of Addresses - Set to Allow.

If this is set to restrict, even if you are logged in to the Web interface as admin it will not allow any new addresses to show on the panel even if they exist in the address book.

Edit: Once you change this and head back to the scan favourites you should see your new destination appear without re applying it again via the Web interface.

Wow, I will try that this week and keep you informed.
            Thanks!
