    C454e - C458 fuser?

I know the C224e-C364e fuser units are same as the C258-C368 but will the C454e fit in the C458? From little research I did they are probably different. Has anyone converted a C454e fuser to work in C458? maybe different connector, etc. Thanks

    Hello, good morning, colleague
What you say is possible, but in addition to the connectors, you have to change the pressure rollers and the sponge rollers of the fuser belt. Each model has a different one. Even between the 458 and 458e

Good to know. Even though I've rebuilt many "4" series fusers I will just get a new C458 fuser. If it was just the connectors I would swap it but not if rollers etc need to be replaced.

FYI, I've used a C224e fuser in the C454e by just changing the lamp which has different connector. Still working after several years.

I tried it and at first glance it worked perfectly but only with text, photos and a dark background this happens. The pressure and sponge roller of the C224 and C454 are different and I have done it. I have had problems with paper curling on the A3 and also some lines can appear when there is a lot of dough when rubbing against the guide nails of the transfer belt.

Good point. I've rebuilt both fuser and and know about the 2 rollers being different but this one time I had a good customer down because of bad fuser and new one was back ordered so I swapped just the lamp and it worked. Customer was very low volume and only printed text and mostly used copier for scanning. I was going to swap fuser with new one but never did since it was working fine. Agree the rollers should be changed as well.
