There is a whole bunch of "nice to have" items. Usually we do the following:- Install print drivers
- Use System Preferences to add the printer manually. By default it will try to use multicast and Bonjour. Make sure to set all options (bases and finishers, ect.)
- Once installed use a web browser to navigate to http://127.0.0.1:631 (the CUPS interface). All the useful settings are hidden away in here.
- Edit the newly created printer.
- Change the URI to: ipp://<ip of printer here>/ipp?waitjob=false&waitprinter=false <- This makes the Mac print right away instead of waiting for a job to complete.
- Set any wanted print defaults in CUPS. We like to set the paper arrangement setting to prioritize productivity to speed up printing.
- Send a test page from CUPS to confirm it is working.

Thanks, but I have no access to your link.
Any additional information? Any problems to expect with using the BH-C-284e in an Apple environment?

Officially 10.12-11 have drivers but.... they can use postscript so it would be possible to make it work on any of them.
