    Bizhub 250i, C300i "install toner"

I have now seen this 5 times recently with "i" series off lease machines I buy to resell. Low meters under 30K so machines are all in nice shape. If you turn on main switch a message to install yellow toner shows on display, most of the time all you have to do is slide toner out and back in and works fine until main switch is turned off. Sometimes you have to do it several times for it to recognize toner. I always tell the customer not to turn off so not a big deal but I'm curious what it could be. Weird it's always the yellow toner.
    Thanks

Likely missing the plastic ribs on the newer sub hopper unit which helps the chips on the bottle make better contact. This was a common issue with early i-series, they released a few bulletins about it.

Thanks for the bulletins. It shows in later bulletin that the modification seal is discontinued and have to buy the new style toner btl cover. Is there anything that can be used similar to the modification seal?

You can stack 3 or 4 of these control panel function label stickers on top of each other and stick them down in the area where the seal/rib goes, looks like around the 4 or 5 o'clock position.

Glad I read this! I've been having a few machines do this as well, so good to know!
