    8 Series vs I Series

    Hello my friends.
Has anyone managed to resolve the loss of quality of the Series I models compared to the 8 Series models?

I followed the steps in a technical bulletin, but I did not get a positive result.

I have problems when I increase the paper weight to 170gsm or more, being thick2, thick3 or thick4

Any advice is very valuable. Thanks.

    Kind..of?

There is a dip switch to set and a setting in a print driver.
    • Set 6th bit of dip switch 153 to a 1. Example: x1xxxxxx Restart after changing this dip switch.
    • Set the defaults of the print driver to "Photo" instead of "Document" for the color settings in the quality tab.
After we change those our i-sereis machines print close to the 8 series. Not perfect but better.

All true just minor correction in your example xx1xxxxx 1 is 5th bit. They are counted starting from zero to 7. So correct is x1xxxxxx

        Oops. Slight typo. Good catch.

Or just do switch 153 and change HEX to 40, it's quicker and easier to remember.
