BH-C-284e, SMB scan to W11 OK but scan to MAC not. why?

Customer has a BH-C-284e which scans easily with SMB to a W11 computer, however with the same settings (I think.....) in PageScope WebConnection, the scans are not reaching the MAC computer. The MFP scans the original and seems to try to reach the scan folder in the MAC, but after about fifteen seconds errors out.

Are there any special settings necessary in PageScope to enable SMB-Scanning to a MAC? Do “Bonjour” and/or “Apple Talk” play a role here?

There is in PageScope under the Network Tab an option called SMB Setting/Client Setting and SMB Setting/SMB Server Settings, anything special here to adjust for SMB>Apple scans?

    Any help please?

Is SMB (WIndows File Sharing) enabled within MacOS, I seem to remember this is off by deafult.

I remember having huge pain with this and ended up having to switch the client to SMTP. It would drop out, take ages to transfer or straight up not work at all. There are a fair few threads scattered about with people having the same issues when trying to acces NAS drives on thier networks too.

Since the machine is scanning to the Win11 box I assume you are running at least GDF-M1 that enables SMBv2 handshake. On previous versions even though the protocol was sending via V2 the handshake would fall back to V1 and fail.

If you have had to enable SMBv1 on the windows machine via windows features (which should never be done, huuuuuuuuuuge security risk) it will never scan to the Mac as they do not support V1 at all.
