    Bizhub 750i Network Problems

    Hello everyone,
I have a strange problem, as soon as the machine is connected to an HP ARUBA smart switch, the network stops working and there are not even any indicator lights.
As soon as I connect the machine to a regular switch between them, everything starts working.
other vendors (Lexmark , richo and laptops works well in the same port)
I thought it might be related to MTU
I would be happy to receive suggestions from you for a solution.
    Regards,

1)Check if connecting at 10/100 instead of Auto resolved the issue.
    2) Check if forcing the connection on that particular Switch port to 1000 resolved the issue
    3) Check if the Gateway IP is Valid. If you find a Strange IP check if you have a second DHCP server orsimply blacklist the invalid Gateway IP.
4)If the Client has HP Aruba Switches check if Enabling or Disabling Clearpass Function resolves theissue.
    5) When you have problems to convince a client that the issue is on their side you can also try using asmall Unman-aged switch between the MFP and the wall port.
Most of the time this fools the Cisco or HP Switch into behaving in a different manner and the thenetwork connection becomes stable
    6) We have also noticed that Cisco Switches equipped with POE can also become confused if thedevice needs power over Ethernet or not and can disconnect the device from the network.
In this situation just ask the Network Administrator to turn off POE on that particular Port.

A couple of possibilities with the HP ARUBA smart switch,
      1. It is PoE and something with the 750i is overloading it
      2. The 750i is immediately attempting something that violates the HP ARUBA smart switch's security protocol
Having the customer's IT access the switch's GUI and check the error log. They can also turn off PoE for port the 750i is connected to.

The fact that connecting a regular switch between stops the problem indicates that PoE is the main problem. It is one of the recommended solutions for connecting a non PoE compatible device to a PoE switch. Some non PoE devices can be damaged by PoE switches.

        Regards,
there was a tech bulletin about this just the other day, quote below,

"Over the years we have had a number of cases reporting Network issues on both Konica and Brother Based Machines.

These issues include random disconnection from the network after some time or unable to re-establish connection after a Power failure or even not being able to establish a connection at all.

Most of the time these issues are not related to the MFP as such but as a result of customer's network.( Mostly with Cisco or HP Switches)

In these cases we suggest checking the below.

1)Check if connecting at 10/100 instead of Auto resolved the issue.

        2) Check if forcing the connection on that particular Switch port to 1000 resolved the issue

        3) Check if the Gateway IP is Valid. If you find a Strange IP check if you have a second DHCP server or simply blacklist the invalid Gateway IP.

4)If the Client has HP Aruba Switches check if Enabling or Disabling Clearpass Function resolves the issue.

        5) When you have problems to convince a client that the issue is on their side you can also try using a small Unman-aged switch between the MFP and the wall port.

Most of the time this fools the Cisco or HP Switch into behaving in a different manner and the the network connection becomes stable

        6) We have also noticed that Cisco Switches equipped with POE can also become confused if the device needs power over Ethernet or not and can disconnect the device from the network.

copytechtrouble dude you're re-quoting what elmaligno did already
