    i-series firmware and finisher

Just curious if anyone else has had an issue with flashing firmware on an i-series with a finisher. A couple of times I've flashed firmware and upon reboot it codes out with a finisher failure, firmware mismatch. The only remedy is to replace the finisher control board. I've looked at the Readme for the firmware and it shows the correct finisher, but it still corrupted the finisher control board enough that even trying to flash older firmware or the level it was before the upgrade doesn't work. Before anyone asks, the only one I specifically remember is a C450i with an FS539, flashing RE. I've used that same file on many other machines and had no problem.

Some finishers are forwards compatible like the FS-534 will work on a 8 series but there was one change on a motor type used. It will work but if you leave the finisher on there while doing firmware it will not work and you can get a mismatch. To fix it the finisher must be reattached to a 4 series machine and flashed. Could be a similar issue?
    Whatever

It wasn't downgrading firmware though. Also, the finisher firmware is all part of the total zip file so does this mean to just delete the finisher firmware from the unzipped file? It's also not a failure to download the finisher firmware, it downloads and changes the finisher firmware, more like it installs the wrong finisher model firmware and upon boot up it codes out with a firmware mismatch.
