Bizhub C6500 – Issues After Replacing Magenta & Yellow Developers

    Hello,

I recently replaced the Magenta and Yellow developers on my Konica Minolta Bizhub C6500, and I’m experiencing some quality and contamination issues since then.

Background: Since Konica Minolta stopped producing parts for this model, I’ve had to resort to compatible consumables.
First, I tried a developer from AliExpress listed as:
"1100g Original quality DV610 developer for Konica Minolta Bizhub C6501 C6500 C6000 C7000 yellow Powder DEVELOPER"

This product was completely unusable — I couldn’t perform Gamma Adjustments and kept getting a “Replace Developer Unit” error.
If i skipped the gamma adjustment all prints had a yellowish tint, not usable !

Then I switched to developer from a local supplier, who claims:
“Compatible developer imported from Mitsubishi, 1100g per bag, made in Japan (not China).”

This time I was able to:
    • Perform Toner Density Sensor Adjustments
    • Complete the Gamma Adjustment
    • Run Color Registration

However, the print quality dropped significantly since before replacing the developers:
    • A yellow streak appears along one side of the print
    • That same side has a slight yellow tint across all colors
    • Both charging corona units (for Magenta and Yellow) are heavily contaminated, even though I had cleaned them thoroughly only ~25 pages earlier

Photos attached to better illustrate the issue.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this? Have I forgotten to do something ? Could the developer formulation be too aggressive or incompatible with the drum/corona system?

    Thanks for any insights !

Until you put OEM developer in this unit, you are just pissing in the wind. Go on eBay and search for DV-610. There are plenty of people selling individual developers for this machine.
