if you get the beep ive seen it take 7 minutes to switch to installed after hitting it.
    its a normal bullshit delay.
as far as the serial#s, enter in the correct serial numbers and the scanner serial number is on a sticker on the scanner frame probably under plastic.
i was taught the scanner serial number is important to be accurate for counterfeiting reasons mainly because every color print has a hidden watermark of the machines serial number.
best bet, get back into service mode and enter all the correct serial numbers, its important for more than the counterfeiting reason.
you may be getting TPM error because of the wrong serial numbers.
No beep. But will try that again, bearing in mind the delay. Thanks.

Scanner serial: nothing under the covers, but this is under the beginning of the platen glass. Does that look right?

if its not the same as the machine serial number then yes.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
        The medication helps though...

After entering the serial numbers I got the TPM error again. Then I found this post https://www.copytechnet.com/forum/te...c284e?t=105030 so I did a Clear All Data, and that worked to clear the TPM issue.
I managed to get the 250GB SSD I installed to go through the process of physical format, then logical format, but was still getting error about lack of scanner, so figured maybe it couldn't work with the SSD. When trying to get back into the service admin mode after that, the password typing would lock up. Have found another 500GB HDD, and am currently formatting that (I could get into service admin mode without the SSD connected now).
BTW the Service admin password for both of these beasts here in New Zealand, was 9272927292729272
Will update you all on the continuing saga as it unravels.
